'Nightwriter' Music/Book Premiere

Photo: A Corcoran

I was really happy to premiere this work in the best possible place for it conceptually, sonically, and personally - my favourite local haunt, Drink at Bobs in Hither Green - and have so many wonderful people come out & hear it.

Unlike my last music & book release Our Lady of Stars/Books of Hours & Changes, which was an album and sound-designed audiobook, alongside a book of corresponding poems, illustrations, and scores, Nightwriter’’s book houses the source material for the three EP’s Malpas, Vienne, and Finisterre, containing sets of photographs and texts (photo-poems, as I’ve called them) and a piece of academic writing laying out the premise of the work. I designed the album & book covers as part of the overall EP concept, and the book was lovingly typeset by another all-time favourite, Couper Street.

For now, like the EP’s, the book component is going to be released via phone, so if you’re not on my mailing list and/or don’t follow me on social media and would like one get in touch! Here’s a look at the front cover, excerpts from the writing, and the EP’s contents page that, if we’ve done this correctly, should read as three poems.
